چکیده

The pH dependence of two, flash-induced slowly decaying delayed lum inescence com ponents — resulting from charge recom bination o f Q ä and Qg with the S2 and S3 states (S2O a + S3Q ä and S2Qb + S ,Q i recom binations) — in u n trea ted and herbicide trea ted chloroplasts was investigated within a pH range o f 5.5 to 8.5. The com ponent associated with Q ä show ed the sam e pH -dependence in u n trea ted and in D C M U -treated chloroplasts: its half-decay tim e increased with increasing pH reflecting an appr. + 5 m eV /pH change in the free energy of activation. C ontrary to this the com ponent associated with Q b exhibited an opposite behaviour: its half-decay time decreased with increasing pH and the free energy of activation changed with about —5 m eV /pH . It is concluded that both acceptor and donor side effects are involved in the pH -dependence of slow phase delayed lum inescence com ponents.

Preparation of persisted luminescence pigment and investigation of in glaze compatibility

In this paper, preparation of SrAl2O4:Eu,Dy luminescent pigment has been investigated. Coprecipitation as a low cost and facile method was selected. X-ray diffraction patterns indicated the formation of SrAl2O4:Eu,Dy phase through calcinations process above 800 °C. Moreover, a few amount of silica caused the structural transformation to alumina silicate phase. Transparent glaze which consist of...

Luminescence of chlorophyll in spinach chloroplasts induced by acid-base transition.

The occurrence of a delayed light emission in photosynthetic organisms was first reported by Strehler and Arnold.' This emission was shown to have the same spectrum as that of the fluorescence of chlorophyll in vivo,2 but a much greater lifetime. It therefore reflects the restoration of singlet excited states in chlorophyll at the expense of metastable energy. Arnold and Sherwood3 have proposed...

Flash-Induced Delayed Light Emission Patterns of Red Kidney Bean Leaves: Evidence of a New Component Dependent upon Tissue Integrity.

Studies of flash-induced delayed light emission profiles of dark-adapted intact plant tissues revealed a previously unreported component of plant luminescence. Only partially evident in intact chloroplasts and totally absent in broken chloroplasts, this peak may reflect the interaction of one or more light-activated enzyme systems with photosynthetic electron transport.

Effect of LiCl on the Microstructure and Luminescence Properties of YVO4:Eu3+ and YBO3:Eu3+ Phosphors

In this investigation, Eu3+ doped YVO4 /YBO3 phosphors were synthesized individually by conventional solid state method at 1100 °C under atmosphere condition. Meanwhile, different amounts of LiClwere used as the flux compound to modify the morphology of the phosphor particles and also final luminescence properties. It was concluded that even small amounts of fluxes play a vital role in the grow...
